HAPPY 24TH BIRTHDAY EJIN! this year's message will be short and sweet word to sabrina carpenter.
i'd like to thank daichi for teaching me how to serve...and you for taking me around malaysia and feeding me and making sure i had the best winter break ever. dont tell teekira but my>sg for sure (i will in fact write the opposite to tee and kira when its their bdays but erm trust me). thanks for taking the time to make an itinerary and book that cute little wes anderson hotel, and for letting me crash ur family vaca and experience a real malaysian typhoon and film malaysian tiktoks and meet malaysian shrek. not to let my american out, but literally just five years ago, i wouldn't have even thought of travelling to malaysia, or singapore, or london or birmingham or fuckass ohio, and now these are all my top destinations. like, wtf! its a little corny and i know i said it before, but even in small ways like this you've managed to make my world feel a lot bigger. and now, thanks to you, i know the taste of nasi lemak and durian (spiciest foods in malaysia), and what it feels like to grip the handle of a speeding car (jk u were a great driver haha..ha..), and the size of a newborn's forehead (okay sorry ur nephew was super cute he was). and i know visiting new york is probably not in the cards, but if you do, ill literally fight the TSA for you like genuinely. maybe not within the next four years if we continue the way we do, but i really hope one day i can show you the places i grew up in too!
so, to my nonchalant chill guy lawyer friend who is actually super chalant and caring and kind. thank you for being the friend i can randomly text about anything, and for understanding my haterism and gatekeeping tendencies, and for sticking by my side as one of my closest friends for the past five years, even through rough patches and mentally ill times. thank you for understanding my hatred of mediocre white music and of white people and of men and this list will go on forever but um #empaths! i know you gatekeep your life BUT I DO IN FACT KNOW TRISH AND SERRA AND AME YEAAHH YEAH YEAH okay sorry. going to battle ur brother on pokemon. anyways. know that if you want to air evil thoughts to me i will in fact support you because we're not evil we're just right. and i don't want to overstep, but i think that maybe grief can be especially heavy on days like these, and i want you to know that seriously, genuinely, i'm always here in whatever capacity you need me to be. and i'm also ready to celebrate or play um..squid games..? uh.. or watch severance or mute riize on call so you can listen and gatekeep or something idk whatever it is you do as an employed person. and actually i can do that most days after school because i'm actually the worlds most unemployed employed person who is sleeping on a couch rn bc im still locked out of my room or whatever but yeah. um. haha.
will be sending your MOTHER pineapple cakes because im the goat. hope you have fun at your birthday party (i rsvpd and will be going) and i hope you give yourself at least this one day to be very happy without fear. sorry that i was so rushed leaving malaysia i really wanted to reenact a crying goodbye airport scene and fall to my knees but scoot was especially evil that day for literally no reason. but i will hopefully be back again soon because you will never be rid of me. tell ash i said Hi. HA!
